First on the list is. . .
We have left God's wonderful path and we've followed our own. Yes, it is true. It is like we are pursuing our own way or "my way" instead of God's. It says in Isaiah 53:6: "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us turned to his own way and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Proverbs 14:12 says: "There is a path before each person that seems to be right but in the end, it leads to death."
We have also rejected the good shepherd. Who is our shepherd? The LORD is our shepherd. (Psalms 23:1) We have followed our own path and did not follow our guide- the Lord God. It says in John 10:26 "But you don't believe in me because you are not my sheep. But how are we lost? How did we end up breaking our perfect relationship with our God?
Men are lost because of our sins. In Proverbs 5:21-23 it says: "The Lord clearly sees everything you do. He watches where you go. 22 The sins of the wicked will trap them. Those sins will be like ropes holding them back. 23 Evil people will die because they refuse to be disciplined. They will be trapped by their own desires." Some of the people have hatred and self-pity. It entangles them.
Men are lost because of their evil and wicked plans. In Genesis 6:5, it says: "The Lord saw that the people on the earth were very evil. He saw that they thought only about evil things all the time." We are also lost because of our materialism." It is worth nothing for you to have the whole world if you yourself are destroyed or lost." (Luke 9:25) "You can be sure of this: No one will have a place in the kingdom of Christ and of God if that person commits sexual sins, or does evil things, or is a person who selfishly wants more and more. A greedy person like that is serving a false god." (Ephesians 5:5)
We are lost because Satan blinded the minds of the unbelievers. This is what we call "Spiritual Blindness". "The ruler of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They cannot see the light of the Good News—the message about the divine greatness of Christ. Christ is the one who is exactly like God.: (2 Corinthians 4:4)
Men are lost because they put their trust on wrong things. In Zechariah 10:2 it says: "People use their little statues and magic to learn what will happen in the future, but that is useless. They see visions and tell about their dreams, but it is nothing but worthless lies. So the people are like sheep wandering here and there crying for help, but there is no shepherd to lead them."
How does our Lord Jesus see our condition? Look at Matthew 9:36. It says: "Jesus saw the many people and felt sorry for them because they were worried and helpless—like sheep without a shepherd to lead them."
