Humanity has fallen

In the previous messages, we've learned that God has established a perfect relationship with humans. We've also learned that Satan wants men to destroy their perfect harmony with God. We've also learned about our fall. This is a continuation of the previous message, Humanity: Gone missing

We can never solve our separation from God. We'll learn about various human's ways to bridge their connection with God, still it failed.

Man's intellect will never fully understand God's plan for eternity. It says in Ecclesiastes 8:17: "I also saw that no one can understand all that God does. People can try and try to understand the things that happen here on earth, but they cannot. There may be wise people who claim to understand the meaning of these things, but they are wrong. No one can understand it all." It also says in Ecclesiastes 3:11: "God gave us the ability to think about his world, but we can never completely understand everything he does. And yet, he does everything at just the right time."

Man's intellect cannot find the answer to have peace with God. It says in Romans 3:12: "They have all turned away from him, and now they are of no use to anyone. There is no one who does good, not even one."  "You don’t know how to live in peace. You don’t do what is right and fair. You are crooked, and anyone who lives like that will never know true peace." (Isaiah 59:8)

Religion cannot fix man's broken relationship with God. Being religious does not necessarily means you are bought near to God. It says in Galatians 1:13-14: "13 You have heard about my past life in the Jewish religion. I persecuted the church of God very much. I tried to destroy his people. 14 I was becoming a leader in the Jewish religion. I did better than most other Jews my own age. I tried harder than anyone else to follow the traditions we got from our ancestors."

Being religious cannot assure eternal life. It says: "Jesus said, “You are an important teacher of Israel, and you still don’t understand these things?" (John 3:10) More on it: John 3:1-6 "There was a man named Nicodemus, one of the Pharisees. He was an important Jewish leader. One night he came to Jesus and said, “Teacher, we know that you are a teacher sent from God. No one can do these miraculous signs that you do unless they have God’s help.” Jesus answered, “I assure you, everyone must be born again. Anyone who is not born again cannot be in God’s kingdom.” Nicodemus said, “How can a man who is already old be born again? Can he go back into his mother’s womb and be born a second time?” Jesus answered, “Believe me when I say that everyone must be born from water and the Spirit. Anyone who is not born from water and the Spirit cannot enter God’s kingdom. The only life people get from their human parents is physical. But the new life that the Spirit gives a person is spiritual.

Man-made religious practices and ideas, traditions and many other ceremonies cannot please God. In Mark 7:6-7, it says: "Jesus answered, “You are all hypocrites. Isaiah was right when he wrote these words from God about you: ‘These people honor me with their words,     but I am not really important to them. Their worship of me is worthless.  The things they teach are only human rules.’

Being self-righteous does not fix our separation from God. Those who depend on the law to make things right with God are under curse. "But people who depend on following the law to make them right are under a curse. As the Scriptures say, “They must do everything that is written in the law. If they do not always obey, they are under a curse.” (Galatians 3:10) "What the law says is for those who are under the law. It stops anyone from making excuses. And it brings the whole world under God’s judgment, 20 because no one can be made right with God by following the law. The law only shows us our sin." (Romans 3:19-20)

"We are all dirty with sin.
Even our good works are not pure.
    They are like bloodstained rags.
We are all like dead leaves.
Our sins have carried us away like wind"
 (Isaiah 64:6)

As what we've learned above, what we can say is that only Jesus is the way, the truth, and life. (John 14:6). We must surrender our lives to Him and acknowledge His Lordship over our lives and hearts. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, click here
