The Enemy: Satan

In their original states, all things were created by God wonderfully and perfectly. But how of a sudden did everything changed? We're gonna talk about Lucifer. Find out your spiritual enemy.

Lucifer. He was blameless and without sin when God created him. He was a model of perfection, wisdom, and beauty. Ezekiel 28:12 says "You were the perfect man- so full of wisdom and perfectly handsome." Lucifer was the leader in heaven's worship (Ezekiel 28:13) "You were in Eden, the garden of God. You had every precious stone- rubies, topaz, and diamonds, beryls, onyx, and jasper, sapphires, turquoise, and emeralds." He was the guardian angel of the Garden of Eden.

So why did he fell? What was his original sin? First of all, he had pride. Pride is his first sin. He said "I will ascend into Heaven." "I will exalt my throne above the stars of God." (Job 38:7) "I will sit upon the mount of congregation in the sides of the North." (Revelations 7:9-12) "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds." Psalms 68:4 "I will be like the Most High." (Psalms 86:6) The next one deals with rebellion. Lucifer rebelled against God. (Revelations 2:3-4, 7-9)

Sin always has a consequence. We'll talk about the consequences of his pride and rebellion against God. First of all, he was banished. He was banished from the mountain of God. He was expelled from the Garden of Eden. (Ezekiel 28:6) Lucifer was brought to the lowest depths of hell. (Isaiah 14:15) The hell here refers to a place of disgrace, dishonor and humiliation. He and his fallen angels were kept securely chained in prison for the great day of judgment  (Jude 1:6, 2 Peter 2:4) His final fate will be the lake of fire. (Matthew 24:41, Revelations 20:10, Genesis 3:1-6, Revelations 20:7)

Now, what did he become after his fall? He was cursed. (Genesis 3:14-15). His name was changed from Lucifer to Satan. (Job 1:6-7) Satan means accuser. Devil means the evil one. (1 John 3:8a)Satan becomes God's Archenemy or the most wanted enemy of God. (Job 1:12) Now, Satan is being compared to a furious dragon. (Revelations 12:9,12, John 10:10) His mission is to steal, kill and destroy. He is also being compared to a venomous serpent. Finally, a devouring lion (1 Peter 5:8) What did you learn today?
